FIRST-TIME HOME BUYER EDUCATION PNHS provides a series of workshops three to four times annually that provide comprehensive instruction on all aspects of the home buying process. Participants spend one night a week for five consecutive weeks receiving information and instruction on financing issues and requirements, credit requirements, the mortgage process, selecting a property and working with real estate agents, Agreements of Sale and settlement, homeowner's insurance, property maintenance and default and foreclosure prevention. Certificates are issued to participants, who attend all of the workshops. Other incentives may be available contingent upon funding such as free home inspections, settlement cost assistance grants, discounted mortgage loans and free one-on-one individual counseling is available to all workshop participants. GROUP HOME MAINTENANCE EDUCATION A dramatic need for homeowner support programs and services has surfaced in the aftermath of efforts to support homeownership for low-income citizens. With the herculean efforts by thousands of organizations and government agencies to create new homeowners, we are now witnessing a dramatic rise in the number of foreclosures due to mortgage default. It is now obvious that additional services and programs are needed to assure that homeownership can be maintained. PNHS is developing just such a program. The focus of the program will be on working with homeowners to assure that they can maintain their homes. Instruction will be provided on budgeting, credit management, home maintenance and improvement, and what it means to be part of a community. Participants will be eligible to win prizes and qualify for awards. Groups meet over a period of several weeks. PNHS works with other industry professionals as presenters in these workshops to insure the best and most current information is provided to participants. Please call for a schedule of upcoming classes and events at (215) 476 - 4205. FINANCIAL LITERACY PNHS is one of many organizations nationally providing educational programming designed to promote and elevate the financial fitness amongst our targeted area residents. The presentation incorporates training on issues of budgeting, credit and credit management, saving, investing, insurance and estate planning. Different instructional modules can be designed to address the special interest of seniors, pre-marital young adults, grade schools, etc....
